WHERE DID THE BOWEN TECHNIQUE ORIGINATE?

The Bowen Technique as taught by ISBT - Bowen Therapy is based on the work of Australian manual therapist, Thomas (Tom) Ambrose Bowen (1916-82). Bowen was a talented therapist and anyone that observed and experienced his treatments first hand attest to his ability and diagnostic skills.

The philosophy behind ISBT’s modality is based on the osteopathic principle that the structure of the body governs its function. Correcting the structure to improve overall well‐being is the main aim.

The minimalist approach of the Bowen Technique can often aid in resolving traumatic conditions of the body, especially in cases where other therapies may be too invasive for that particular individual.

I am passionate about health and wellbeing, and I believe in the body’s ability to self-heal when given the right tools to aid recovery. It was through personal injury and a Fibromyalgia diagnosis that I first learnt about the Bowen Technique. I personally experienced the healing benefits of this form of holistic therapy and I am excited to pass on the healing benefits of Bowen Therapy to all my clients. I look forward to getting to know you and help you on your healing journey.
